Eclectic visionaries C-Mon & Kypski proved themselves as genre-bending geniuses on their last album, Where the Wild Things Are, which Esquire Magazine fondly referred to as, “The hot shit in Europe right now.”  3 years later, and with extensive European and US touring under their belts, C-Mon & Kypski are back in the studio working their magic to shatter expectations and take their music to the next level with their upcoming release titled: “We Are Square”, scheduled for October 2009.

Over the course of C-Mon & Kypski’s previous three albums and the last two years spent on the road in Europe, North America and South Africa, the band has evolved from a hip-hop and electronica led turntablist duo to a bombastic, four-piece powerhouse of musical talent.  The group is comprised of enigmatic producer and founding member C-Mon, fellow founding member and 6-time DMC Dutch DJ champion Kypski, Dutch Keyboardist of the Year* Jori, and guitar slinging, multi-instrumentalist, Daniel.

On this highly anticipated new album, C-Mon promises an experience that’s, “…more uptempo with more guitars, more synths, more weird samples and just as wacky a ride as before!”  The last album featured guests ranging from jazz musicians to rappers to a Klezmer Band, and mashed everything from flamenco to dub step.  The new album maintains their unique, collaborative nature while adding new elements.  As Jori asserts: “We haven’t left our electronic roots behind, we’re just exploring our skills as musicians further.”

It’s difficult to classify C-Mon & Kypski’s sound, but if you were to imagine DJ Shadow, Beck, Gogol Bordello, Fela Kuti, Super Furry Animals, and Justice crammed into a van and left to collaborate, you’ll be on your way to understanding what C-Mon and Kypski is all about. C-Mon & Kypski’s music is a fresh and unique blend of upbeat, foot-stomping sounds that have wowed critics across the globe.  As Netherland’s leading music magazine, Oor, said, C-Mon & Kypski is, “Exciting and original, there’s nothing catchier!”

Their last tour, a musical and visual extravaganza dubbed, “Circus C-Mon & Kypski” impressed fans and promoters alike at The Netherlands’ biggest festivals, Pinkpop and Lowlands, and saw the band execute a triumphant national tour that culminated at the internationally prestigious North Sea Jazz festival.  The band also reaped the rewards of two extensive US tours, featuring highly lauded performances at SXSW, The Roxy in LA, the Fillmore East at Irving Plaza in NY, Popscene in SF and the Metro in Chicago.

C-Mon & Kypski are a band at the top of their game, yet constantly evolving.  They are poised to make a global impact with We Are Square, which captures their exhilarating, daring and category busting sound.
